Vodafone Group Plc has announced that Hatem Dowidar will be joining the Board as a Non-Executive Director, effective from 19 February 2024. This follows the strategic relationship agreement between Vodafone and Emirates Telecommunications Group Company PJSC, which was announced on 11 May 2023. Dowidar brings with him 30 years of experience in multinational companies, with 24 years in the telecommunications sector. His career includes leadership positions at Vodafone and e&. He has held various roles at Vodafone, including Regional Director Emerging Markets, CEO of Vodafone Egypt, CEO of Vodafone Malta, and CEO of Partner Markets. Dowidar expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "I look forward to joining the Board of Vodafone and working with Jean-François and my fellow Board members to support the rapid transformation being undertaken by Margherita Della Valle and the management team."

Dowidar's appointment is expected to further strengthen the strategic partnership of Vodafone.
