Star Energy Group plc has announced the appointment of Anthony White MBE as an Independent Non-executive Director, effective immediately. White brings over 35 years of experience in international power markets and the low carbon economy. He has been involved in developing economic and financial frameworks that have reformed the energy sector and opened up new areas for private sector investment. White has also played a role in formulating government policy to make clean energy projects investable and has served as an energy industry regulator. He is currently a Non-executive Board Director of Green Energy Options and the Triple Point Energy Transition Trust.
Chris Hopkinson, CEO of Star Energy, expressed excitement about White joining the Board, stating that his expertise will strengthen the senior team as the company seeks to grow its geothermal business. White himself expressed delight at the opportunity to help Star Energy navigate the transition to Net Zero.
White, aged 70, holds no shares in Star Energy Group plc. He has been a director or partner of several companies and partnerships in the past five years, including Bialik-Langworth Limited, The Ecofin Research Foundation, Triple Point Energy Transition PLC, Green Energy Options Ltd, BW Energy Limited, and Pickfords Wharf RTM Company Limited.
