Shell plc has announced a change in its Executive Committee. Ronan Cassidy, the Chief Human Resources and Corporate Officer, will step down from his position on 31 December 2023 and leave the company thereafter. Rachel Solway, currently the Executive Vice President of Human Resources Organisation Development & Learning, will succeed Cassidy from 1 January 2024 and will be based in London.
Shell CEO Wael Sawan expressed gratitude to Cassidy for his 35 years of service to the company and his contributions to navigating transformational change and exceptional events such as the Covid-19 pandemic. Sawan praised Cassidy's commitment to employee engagement, ethical leadership, and diversity, equity, and inclusion, stating that he has helped change Shell for the better.
Sawan also expressed confidence in Solway's ability to take on the role, highlighting her dedication to performance culture and her care for people. He emphasized that Solway will play a crucial role in helping Shell realize its full potential as it focuses on delivering more value with fewer emissions through performance, discipline, and simplification.
