Pennon Group PLC has announced the appointment of David Sproul as Chair Designate. He will join the Board as a non-executive director on July 1, 2024, and will assume the role of Chair after the retirement of Gill Rider post the Annual General Meeting on July 24, 2024. David Sproul, in response to his appointment, expressed his privilege at taking on the role as Chair at a pivotal point in Pennon's strategy and ongoing commitment to the UK Water industry. David Sproul is a Chartered Accountant with a background in professional services at Deloitte, including serving as Global Deputy CEO from 2019 to 2021. He currently holds the position of Chair at Starling Bank Ltd and serves as a non-executive director at Safanad Limited, a privately held asset manager. Additionally, he is a senior adviser to Bridgepoint Europe and sits on the Board of Governors as Chair designate of the University of Hertfordshire. His fee as Chair will be £250,000 per annum, in line with the fee paid to the outgoing chair.
