National Grid PLC has announced that Jacqui Ferguson will be joining its Board as an independent Non-Executive Director, effective from 1 January 2024. Ferguson will also be a member of the Audit & Risk Committee. She brings a wealth of knowledge in large-scale, growth-oriented technology environments across various continents, industries, and business functions. Currently, Ferguson serves as the Chair of Tesco Bank, Senior Independent Director and Chair of the Remuneration Committee of Croda International plc, Deputy Chair of Engineering UK, and Chair of the Remuneration Committee and Non-Executive Director at John Wood Group PLC. However, she will be stepping down from the Board of John Wood Group PLC after their AGM on 9 May 2024.
Paula Rosput Reynolds, Chair of National Grid, expressed her excitement about Ferguson joining the Board, stating that her varied professional background will make her an invaluable advisor to the organization. Rosput Reynolds highlighted Ferguson's experience in digital transformation, energy development, and engineering, as well as her collaborative style in the boardroom.
In addition, Liz Hewitt will be stepping down from the Board of National Grid on 31 January 2024. Rosput Reynolds thanked Hewitt for her years of service and acknowledged her contributions to the Board's stewardship of controls and risk as Chair of the redefined Audit & Risk Committee.
Hewitt will be joining the board of Kerry Group plc as a Non-Executive Director, effective from 1 March 2024.
