Mondi PLC, a global leader in sustainable packaging and paper, has successfully acquired the Hinton Pulp mill in Alberta, Canada, from West Fraser Timber Co. Ltd for USD 5 million. The mill has an annual pulp production capacity of approximately 250,000 tonnes and will provide Mondi with access to high-quality fiber from a well-established wood basket. The company plans to invest in the mill to enhance productivity and sustainability performance, with potential future expansion to integrate its paper bag operations in the Americas and support growth.
