Land Securities Group PLC has announced the appointment of Moni Mannings as an Independent Non-executive Director and Senior Independent Director designate. Mannings will join the Board as a Non-executive Director and member of the Nomination and Remuneration Committees from December 11, 2023. She will succeed Edward Bonham Carter as Senior Independent Director on April 1, 2024. Mannings is currently an Independent Non-Executive Director of Hargreaves Lansdown plc and Chair of the Remuneration Committee of easyJet plc. She also founded EPOC, a not-for-profit network that seeks to increase diversity on boards. Mannings has extensive experience in law and has held senior positions in leading law firms.

In addition to the appointment of Mannings, Land Securities Group PLC also announced the retirements of Edward Bonham Carter and Nicholas Cadbury. Bonham Carter will retire from the Board at the AGM in July 2024, having served on the Landsec Board for over 10 years, including as Senior Independent Director since 2016. Cadbury will step down from the Board on December 31, 2023, after seven years, during which he chaired the Audit Committee. James Bowling has already succeeded Cadbury as Audit Committee Chair on September 18, 2023, and will also join the Nomination Committee as a member from December 11, 2023.

Sir Ian Cheshire, Chairman of Landsec, expressed excitement about Mannings' appointment and thanked Bonham Carter and Cadbury for their contributions to the company. Cheshire highlighted Bonham Carter's role as Senior Independent Director and his involvement in the chair succession process, as well as Cadbury's chairmanship of the Audit Committee during the challenging pandemic period.
