IMI PLC has announced the purchase of its own ordinary shares for cancellation. The company bought 71,285 ordinary shares through Merrill Lynch International at an average price of 1,886.9908 pence per share. Following this transaction, IMI has 274,914,624 ordinary shares in issue and holds 13,648,836 ordinary shares in treasury, resulting in a total of 261,265,788 voting rights in the company.
