Glencore plc has finalized an agreement to sell its controlling stake in Volcan Compaia Minera S.A.A. to Transition Metals AG, a subsidiary of Integra Capital. The transaction involves a payment of USD 20 million and a secured facility of up to USD 40 million to fund certain mandatory tender offer obligations of Transition Metals. The deal is expected to close this week and is not subject to regulatory approvals. Glencore is a major producer and marketer of over 60 commodities and has a global footprint in more than 35 countries. The company is committed to decarbonization and aims to reduce its industrial emissions significantly by 2035, with an ambition to achieve net zero industrial emissions by 2050. Integra Capital, the buyer, is an Argentinian company with investments in various commodities industries, including polymetallic mining.
