Frontier IP Group PLC's portfolio company, Pulsiv Limited, has unveiled a groundbreaking 65W USB-C reference design that promises to revolutionize the fast charging market. The technology boasts 30% lower temperatures and operates at 96% efficiency, significantly reducing energy loss and the size of critical components. This innovation is expected to expand the USB-C fast charging global standard, particularly in in-wall plug sockets, eliminating the need for plugs and power converters. The design has already attracted interest from potential customers and is set to push the boundaries of power conversion further in the coming months.

Pulsiv's Chief Product Officer, Dr. Tim Moore, highlighted the design's focus on delivering fast charging without the complexity of managing high temperatures. The reference design, which combines Pulsiv OSMIUM technology with an industry-standard QR Flyback and highly optimized, ultra-compact magnetics, is the first in a series aimed at drastically lowering operating temperatures, minimizing losses, and reducing size to create a sustainable platform for the USB-C standard. The design's specifications include an input voltage range of 90 - 265VAC, output power of 65W max, and peak efficiency of 96%.

Neil Crabb, CEO of Frontier IP, praised the launch of the technology, emphasizing its potential to make in-wall sockets featuring USB-C ports ubiquitous and enable the USB-C standard to reach its full potential. The release of this world-leading USB-C fast charging technology marks a significant achievement for Pulsiv and is expected to have a transformative impact on the fast charging space.
