Experian has launched the Experian Smart Money Digital Checking Account & Debit Card, which includes the first-of-its-kind feature Experian Boost. This feature allows consumers to use the account to pay bills that are eligible for Experian Boost, such as utilities, rent, and telecom, and have those payments added to their Experian credit file to potentially increase their credit scores. Over 14 million consumers have already connected to Experian Boost, with an average FICO Score 8 increase of 13 points. The account also provides access to a network of over 55,000 surcharge-free ATMs, bill pay, and the ability to receive a paycheck up to two days early with direct deposit. To open a digital checking account, consumers must enroll in a free or paid Experian membership. The membership includes access to credit reports, FICO Scores, auto insurance comparison shopping, credit card marketplace, dark web monitoring, credit education, and credit monitoring. Experian's goal is to expand access to credit-building innovations and help consumers get access to fair and affordable credit.
