Experian has launched a campaign with Travis Kelce, a professional football champion from the Kansas City Chiefs, to help consumers improve their financial health using the Experian Smart Money Digital Checking Account. According to a national survey by Experian, football fans are planning to spend an average of $743 on football-related expenses this season. The campaign aims to generate awareness about the new digital checking account, which includes the game-changing feature Experian Boost. Experian Boost allows consumers to contribute payments for eligible bills to their Experian credit file, potentially increasing their FICO Score instantly.
The campaign will feature commercials with Travis Kelce that will be aired during NFL and college football telecasts. The first commercial, titled "Stats," debuted during the Chiefs vs. Jets game on NBC Sports Sunday Night Football. The commercials will also be shown on various broadcast networks and streaming services. Kelce stated, "This is a great opportunity for me to spread the word about the resources available like Experian's new digital checking account to help fans become the champion of their finances."
Dacy Yee, Chief Marketing Officer at Experian Consumer Services, mentioned that the passion that fans have for football can be applied to their finances. The new digital checking account aims to help consumers take control of their finances and build their credit strength. Experian is inviting fans to join a football-themed X #CreditChat on October 11, where they can have the chance to win a Kelce-signed football and a deluxe tailgate prize package.
To open an Experian Smart Money Digital Checking Account, consumers must enroll in a free or paid Experian membership through the Experian app or website. Existing Experian members can simply log in to their account and enroll. The account benefits include a $50 direct deposit bonus, early paycheck access, bill pay and transfer, access to a network of surcharge-free ATMs, no monthly fees or minimum balance, and personal finance management tools and education. An Experian membership also provides access to an Experian credit report and FICO Score, auto insurance comparison shopping service, credit card marketplace, dark web monitoring, and credit monitoring.
Experian advises consumers to pay their bills on time, review their credit report and finances regularly, set a budget to avoid overspending, maintain a low credit utilization ratio, and develop a plan to pay off credit cards and loans.
