Empire Metals Limited has announced the lab results from the first diamond core drillhole at the Pitfield Project in Western Australia. The results confirm strong titanium mineralisation throughout the hole to a depth of approximately 350m. The drillhole intersected wide intervals of higher-grade titanium mineralisation, including 276.5m at 4.57% TiO2 from 80.5m. The company has now commenced an extensive Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling program to target higher grade mineralisation. Approximately 40 RC holes totaling 6,000 meters are planned to test the length of the magnetics-gravity anomaly. The company also expects to have lab results for the remaining two diamond drillholes available shortly. Shaun Bunn, Managing Director of Empire Metals, stated that the results confirm the presence of a district-scale, metal-rich, hydrothermal mineral system containing multiple, thick higher grade titanium zones within the larger mineral system. He also expressed confidence in the upcoming RC drilling program, which is expected to establish the district scale of the mineral system and the potential for extensive, higher-grade zones of titanium mineralisation.
