Thank you so much for your continued support for Drax. We received over 1,100 signatures on our recent letter asking the Prime Minister to support BECCS at Drax, which played a significant role in helping us progress our discussions with Government.

We welcome the Governments commitment to supporting the deployment of large-scale Power BECCS (Bioenergy Carbon Capture and Storage) projects by 2030 and are pleased to announce that Draxs BECCS project has passed the Governments deliverability assessment.

We have now entered formal discussions with Government and look forward to a swift decision in order for us to progress with our 2bn investment programme and deliver this critical project for the UK.

The Government recently announced its Powering up Britain Plan which laid out measures to help ensure UK energy security, deliver its net zero commitment by 2050 and keep the UK in the race to fund renewable technologies of the future.
