CML Microsystems Plc has announced the appointment of Mark McCabe as an Executive Director to the Board of the Company as Chief Operating Officer. McCabe joined the Group in 2016 as Managing Director of the Communications business division. Prior to joining CML, he held various positions in the electronics component industry and gained extensive experience in sales, marketing, and operations. Nigel Clark, Executive Chairman of CML, stated that McCabe brings a deep understanding of the business and has played an important role in executing the company's growth strategy and improving operational effectiveness.

In addition, Michelle Jones has been appointed to the senior management position of Director of Finance and Company Secretary. Jones joined CML in 2018 as Group Financial Controller and was appointed Company Secretary in July 2020. She has previous experience in financial roles at leading real estate company Regis Group Plc, Derichebourg Multiservices, and Thermos Limited. Chris Gurry, Group Managing Director, expressed delight in welcoming Jones to her new role and highlighted her contributions to successfully navigating strategic M&A activity, implementing a global ERP system, and managing operational challenges during the pandemic.

CML Microsystems develops mixed-signal, RF, and microwave semiconductors for global communications markets. The company utilizes a combination of outsourced manufacturing and in-house testing and operates in the UK, Asia, and the USA. CML targets sub-segments within the communication markets with strong growth profiles and high barriers to entry. The company has a diverse customer base and is protected from the cyclicality typically associated with the semiconductor industry. The growth in its end markets is driven by factors such as the increasing demand for faster and more secure data transmission, telecoms infrastructure upgrades, and the prevalence of private commercial wireless networks linked to the industrial internet of things (IIoT).
