Chemring Group PLC has announced the appointment of Tony Wood as an independent non-executive director and Chairman-designate. He will join the Board on 1 October 2024 and will succeed Carl-Peter Forster as Chairman on 1 December 2024, following Carl-Peter's retirement on 30 November 2024. Carl-Peter has successfully led the Group through a period of significant transformation, building a stronger, higher-quality, and more resilient business. The investments made in both culture and infrastructure position the Group well to capitalize on its many opportunities.

Tony Wood brings significant engineering and sector experience, having been the Chief Executive of FTSE 100 Meggitt plc from 2018-2022 and a member of the Board of Directors of Airbus SE and National Grid plc. He holds a degree in Engineering from the Open University in the UK and a Master of Business Administration from INSEAD in France. Michael Ord, Chief Executive of Chemring, expressed gratitude to Carl-Peter for his guidance and commitment and welcomed Tony, stating that his knowledge and understanding of the defense and aerospace sector will be invaluable for the next stage of the Group's development.

Carl-Peter Forster, the outgoing Chairman, expressed his enjoyment in leading the Group through its successful transformation and expressed gratitude to the management and employees for their dedication and hard work. Tony Wood expressed his excitement about joining the Board and working with the leadership team to support the next exciting stage in the Company's development.
