CAP-XX Limited has recently notified the London Stock Exchange of a fundraise, part of which is conditional on shareholder consent. Due to the deterioration in settlement performance, trading of CAP-XX Limited shares has been temporarily suspended under Rule 1510 of the Rules of the London Stock Exchange. Settlement of outstanding transactions can continue while the security is suspended. The Exchange will continue to monitor the settlement situation and will notify the market when trading is to be restored through a Stock Exchange Notice.
Rule 5000 (Obligation to settle) and its associated guidance places an obligation on member firms to ensure that every on Exchange trade is duly settled on the agreed settlement date. This obligation remains even if the reason for non-settlement is a customer or counterparty having failed to settle other transactions in the same security.
For any queries on this Notice, they should be addressed to Market Supervision, Market Regulation, telephone +44 (0)20 7797 3666 (STX 33666) option 2.
Liam Smith, Head of Market Supervision, has issued this Stock Exchange Notice, which will be available on the London Stock Exchange website.
