CAP-XX Limited has announced that it has secured two new international patents, strengthening its patent protection in over 150 countries. One of the patents relates to the company's new cylindrical surface mount technology, which has the potential to revolutionize how supercapacitors are mounted to printed circuit boards. The other patent relates to a polymer system that binds together the active materials used in supercapacitors. This binder system demonstrates excellent high-temperature stability and can also be applied to manufacture battery electrodes. CAP-XX plans to deliver its new surface mount technology products in tape and reel packaging to support high-volume production. The company has already passed all required feasibility testing for its new polymer system on a production coating line.
