Burberry Announces Purchase of Own Shares
Burberry Group PLC has announced that it has purchased 176,805 of its ordinary shares from Merrill Lynch International on the London Stock Exchange and Multilateral Trading Facilities. The purchase was made in accordance with the authority granted by shareholders at the company's Annual General Meeting. The highest price paid per share was 2,175.0000 pence, the lowest price paid per share was 2,135.0000 pence, and the average price paid per share was 2,155.2270 pence. Burberry intends to cancel the purchased shares.
Following this transaction, Burberry holds 5,232,720 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 372,796,753 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares). The total number of voting rights in the company will be 372,796,753. Since the share buyback program began, Burberry has repurchased 6,247,146 ordinary shares at an average price of 2,161.3450 pence per share.
Burberry is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 100 index.
