Burberry Group PLC has announced that it has purchased 334,248 of its ordinary shares from Morgan Stanley & Co International Plc on the London Stock Exchange and Multilateral Trading Facilities. The purchase was made in accordance with the authority granted by shareholders at the company's Annual General Meeting. The highest price paid per share was 1,855.5000 pence, the lowest price paid per share was 1,801.0000 pence, and the average price paid per share was 1,826.8200 pence. Burberry intends to cancel the purchased shares.
Following this transaction, Burberry now holds 5,232,720 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 366,507,651 ordinary shares in issue, excluding treasury shares. The total number of voting rights in the company will be 366,507,651, which shareholders can use as the denominator when determining whether they are required to notify their interest in the company under the FCA's Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rules.
Since the share buyback program with Morgan Stanley & Co International Plc began, Burberry has repurchased a total of 3,274,143 ordinary shares at a weighted average price of 1,872.1400 pence per share.
