BP PLC has achieved a significant milestone with the arrival of the floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel at the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) Phase 1 LNG development, situated offshore Mauritania and Senegal. The FPSO vessel, a crucial element of the project, has been safely moored at the site, marking a crucial step towards the safe delivery of first gas. The GTA project aligns with BP's strategy to deliver resilient and focused hydrocarbons.
The FPSO vessel's arrival at its final location, 40km offshore in a water depth of 120m, is a pivotal development for the GTA Phase 1 LNG project. Operated by BP on behalf of the project's partners, including Kosmos Energy, PETROSEN, and SMH, the vessel will play a key role in producing gas from deep-water reservoirs located approximately 120km offshore, through a subsea system.
This achievement underscores BP's commitment to advancing its LNG development projects and delivering on its strategic objectives. The successful mooring of the FPSO vessel represents a significant step forward in the GTA Phase 1 LNG project, bringing the company closer to realizing its goals in the region.
