Boku, Inc. has announced that its Malaysian entity, Boku Network Services MY Sdn. Bhd., has received authorization from Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) to operate as a Non-Bank Merchant Acquirer. This approval allows Malaysian merchants to access Boku's global payments network, which covers over 200 payment methods worldwide. Malaysia is known for its high mobile wallet penetration and use, making it an important market for Boku's mobile payment solutions. The authorization will enhance business expansion routes for Malaysian companies and promote consumer payment choice in Malaysia. Boku's CEO, Jon Prideaux, stated that Malaysia is important in the company's global plans to transform the payment ecosystem towards the new generation of payments. Boku's CBO, Mark Stannard, added that the authorization is a meaningful addition to Boku's extensive network of payment licenses.
