BHP has partnered with leading mining companies in Chile to address the increasing cyber threats in the region. The Mining Cybersecurity Corporation was launched in response to over 4 billion cyber-attacks in Chile during the first half of 2023, positioning it as the fifth country in Latin America with the most incidents. This initiative aims to strengthen the defense against cyber threats in the mining industry.

The company also introduced the second cohort of six companies for the BHP Xplor accelerator program. These companies were selected from over 5000 applicants, showcasing BHP's commitment to fostering innovation and supporting emerging businesses in the industry.

In addition, BHP's operational review for the half-year ended 31 December 2023 highlighted positive performance. WA iron ore production increased by 5% quarter-on-quarter, and first-half copper production rose by 7%, reflecting a solid operational performance during this period.

Furthermore, BHP's commitment to environmental stewardship was exemplified through the introduction of Stephen Witkowski, Principal WAIO Environment, who emphasized the importance of preserving resources for future generations. Additionally, BHP's recognition as finalists in the 2024 Women in Resources Awards by the Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia (CME) underscores the company's dedication to promoting diversity and inclusion within the industry.
