Beacon Energy PLC has announced a delay in the mobilisation of the drilling rig for the SCHB2 side track operation, which was originally scheduled for mid-April. The delay, caused by extended ongoing operations encountered by the current operator, is expected to last approximately two weeks. The rig is currently contracted to a third-party operator for well operations located approximately 50km from the Erfelden site. The company anticipates that side track operations will commence around seven days after mobilisation, with the operation itself expected to take approximately 14 days.

Larry Bottomley, CEO of Beacon Energy, acknowledged the delay, stating that while the company cannot control third-party delays, it represents minor slippage to their previously guided timeline. Despite the delay, preparations for the arrival of the rig at the site are ongoing, and the company looks forward to the commencement of the side track to realize the full potential of the SCHB2 well. Beacon Energy will provide further updates on mobilisation as required.
