Balfour Beatty Living Places has announced that it has been awarded an eight-year, £176 million contract by Buckinghamshire Council for the maintenance of highways assets across the county.

Balfour Beatty has become the first construction company in the UK to roll out Automated Cone Laying Machines, a new pioneering technology to reduce the risks associated with cone laying activities across its Highways operations.

A new method devised by our 50:50 joint venture, Gammon, in Hong Kong — the Abrasive Waterjet Cutting System (AWCS) for Underwater Pile Decommissioning — has received the Champion award in the IMechE Mechanical Innovation Award 2021–2022 competition.

Within the last six weeks, Balfour Beatty has been awarded multiple contracts totalling more than $235 million in value to construct essential K-12, correctional/justice and federal projects across California.

Balfour Beatty Living Place’s Senior Health and Safety Advisor, Christopher Rodgers recently completed the “50 peaks in 5 days” challenge in aid ofFriends of Colnbrook, 

Rugby Against Cancerand 

Building Heroes.
Covering 111 miles and over 13,100 metres in elevation, the team of eleven including Chris conquered some of the UK’s most spectacular peaks, including Ben Nevis, Scotland and Glyder Fach, Snowdonia.

Our Power T&D colleagues are reaching new heights in their work this week, literally! They are harnessing helicopter power to carry and lift essential equipment into place on our Inveraray to Crossaig project. #BuildingNew

Futures

We recently teamed up with addiction and homelessness charity, Steps to Hope in aid of people in need across Edinburgh. Recovering and recycling a massive 8.5 tonnes of redundant materials, we have raised over £140,00 to date which has provided essential support for those most in need in Edinburgh.
