Balfour Beatty employee Lisa Scargill has been awarded the prestigious Hensman Prize for her exceptional contributions to the Cumbrian community. Lisa, who serves as the Regional Social Impact Manager, was recognized for her efforts in delivering positive social impact projects across the region. Her initiatives include supporting children's reading programs, hosting placement students, enhancing career education in local schools, and volunteering in various community initiatives. Additionally, she has allocated £30,000 in sponsorships to grassroots causes.
Lisa joined Balfour Beatty in November 2022 and contributed to the Box Encapsulation Plant (BEP) project at Sellafield in West Cumbria. Her dedication and hard work led to a promotion to Regional Social Impact Manager for Balfour Beatty across the North of England. Reflecting on her journey, Lisa expressed gratitude for the support she received from Balfour Beatty, stating, "Since joining Balfour Beatty, I’ve always felt supported to continue my studies."
