Balfour Beatty, the international infrastructure group, has announced the appointment of Robert MacLeod as a Non-Executive Director and member of the Audit & Risk Committee, effective from 8 March 2024. MacLeod will succeed Dr Stephen Billingham CBE as Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee after the 2024 AGM. MacLeod brings extensive experience as a CEO and CFO, having previously served as CEO of Johnson Matthey plc from 2014 to 2022 and CFO from 2009 to 2014. He has also held positions at WS Atkins PLC and served as a Non-Executive Director of Aggreko plc. Currently, MacLeod is a Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Remuneration Committee of RELX plc and a Non-Executive Director of Vesuvius plc.
Lord Charles Allen of Kensington, CBE and Chair of Balfour Beatty, expressed gratitude to Stephen Billingham for his significant contribution to the company over his nine-year tenure as a Non-Executive Director, Senior Independent Director, and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee. Lord Allen also welcomed MacLeod's appointment, stating that his leadership experience and financial expertise make him a valuable addition to the Board.
