Ascent Resources PLC has announced that it has successfully prevented its joint venture (JV) partner in Slovenia from entering self-declared insolvency. The company filed petitions against the partner's application, arguing that it was an abuse of the insolvency system and that the partner had not engaged with Ascent, its main creditor, to explore alternatives to insolvency. The court accepted the company's creditor position and did not approve the partner's self-declared insolvency application. A hearing is scheduled for 23 February to further deliberate the matter. As a result, the JV partner remains solvent, and no administrator has been appointed. The company intends to reach out to the JV partners for constructive talks. Further announcements will be made as necessary.
