Angus Energy PLC has announced the successful completion of the workover of the Brockham 2Y well, marking the restart of production at the Brockham Oil Field in Surrey. The well, equipped with a new pump and surface equipment repairs and upgrades, is now producing approximately 120 barrels per day of total fluid, with 40% being oil. The company plans to monitor the well over the coming days to assess its future production potential. Additionally, all produced water is reinjected at the site into the reservoir for pressure support.
Richard Herbert, the CEO of Angus Energy, expressed satisfaction with the progress at the Brockham Field, stating, "The workover was completed safely and on schedule and budget, with the new pump starting up on the 28th May." He also mentioned that the well is currently exceeding management's predicted flow rates and is expected to sustain 30-40 barrels per day of oil, with potential for further increase with operational improvements.
Angus Energy, an independent onshore Energy Transition company, aims to expand production through organic and inorganic growth, with the Brockham Oil Field restart being the first step in that direction. The company plans to share further updates on oil production from Brockham, in which it holds an 80% interest, and other potential developments in the coming months.
