Anglo Asian Mining plc has completed a maiden JORC (2012) Mineral Resource estimate for its Gilar polymetallic deposit in Azerbaijan. The deposit has 6.10 million tonnes of mineralisation with average grades of 0.88% copper and 1.30 grams of gold per tonne. The Measured plus Indicated JORC categories contain 5.90 million tonnes of mineralisation, with an in-situ Mineral Resource of 54,000 tonnes of copper, 255,000 ounces of gold, and 46,000 tonnes of zinc. The estimate is based on 135 drill holes with a total length of 42,821 metres. The Gilar deposit is expected to be an important contributor to the company's future production, bridging the gap between declining grades at existing mines and new concessions entering production in the medium-term. The development of the Gilar deposit is underway, with the construction of a primary transport decline tunnel and a ventilation tunnel.
