Amaroq Minerals Ltd., an independent mine development company with gold assets and mineral licenses in Southern Greenland, has signed a contract mining agreement with Thyssen Schachtbau GmbH and a procurement and supply chain support agreement with Tamarack Mining Services. Thyssen Schachtbau is a Germany-based mining contractor with over 150 years of experience in remote locations and Arctic conditions. The initial two-year contract with Thyssen Schachtbau will cover the rehabilitation of existing portals, ramps, ventilation, and electricity supply at the Nalunaq mine, followed by the development and stoping of the high-grade Mountain Block. Tamarack Mining Services is a Canada-based Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) exclusively serving the global mining industry. The company will provide procurement and logistical support for the Nalunaq project. Rehabilitation activities at Nalunaq are set to begin in October 2023. Eldur Olafsson, CEO of Amaroq, stated that securing these contracts with experienced and reliable partners is a critical step forward in restarting the Nalunaq mine.
