Lord Dominic Johnson, Minister for Investment, recently discussed the benefits of businesses setting up in UK Freeports during a Ministerial roundtable. Tees Valley Lithium (TVL), represented by Non-Executive Chairman Paul Atherley, was among the major investors present at the roundtable, along with companies such as Toyota, Siemens, Lotus, Mitsui, and EDL. Lord Johnson emphasized the tax incentives available to businesses located within the port, including relief on Stamp Duty, Business Rates, Employer NI Contributions, and Enhanced Capital Allowances for investment in plant & machinery and structures & buildings.

TVL is currently finalizing supply agreements for its fully permitted merchant lithium refinery, which is situated at the Wilton International Chemicals Park in the Teesside Freeport, UK. Once at full capacity, TVL aims to become Europe's largest supplier of battery-grade lithium chemicals to the growing battery industry in the UK and Europe.
