Alba Mineral Resources PLC has provided an update on its activities at the Clogau-St David's Gold Mine in north Wales and its regional exploration project. The company has taken more than 40 samples from the Lower Llechfraith workings, with a majority of the concentrates produced containing a significant proportion of sulphides, including discrete grains of gold. These concentrates have been dispatched to an independent laboratory for assaying of their gold content. Alba has also completed an airborne geophysical survey over its key regional gold targets and is in the process of verifying the data set for interpretation.

The company has filed a notification of its intention to carry out bulk sampling at the Llechfraith Target, following the completion of the assessment of the newly dewatered No.4 Level. The detailed planning and layout of the bulk sampling program below No.4 Level is underway. Additionally, Alba has decided to carry out a trenching program at the historical waste tip before submitting a planning application for its exploitation. George Frangeskides, Executive Chairman, expressed satisfaction with the progress made at Clogau and the regional gold exploration ground.

The bulk sampling exercise at the Llechfraith Target is aimed at providing valuable data regarding the gold grades within the sampled locations, critical to Alba's assessment of the potential viability of the Llechfraith Target for future mining operations at Clogau. The company's decision to carry out a further bulk sampling program at the Waste Tip before submitting a planning application reflects a strategic approach. Alba looks forward to the results of the data evaluation from the airborne geophysical survey in due course.
