AFC Energy has unveiled its world-first modular ammonia cracker system, which demonstrates the production of hydrogen in the UK from ammonia procured from OCI Global. The cracker system is designed to deliver 140 tonnes of fuel cell grade hydrogen per annum and is targeted for sale into AFC Energy's UK H-Power Generator deployments. The ammonia used in the demonstration was supplied by OCI Global, a leading producer of hydrogen-based products. AFC Energy has also signed a Letter of Intent with the trading arm of a large European energy company to market the adoption of the cracker technology. The company believes that its ammonia cracking technology, alongside its existing fuel cell technology, has the potential to deliver material value and is exploring options to ensure this potential is recognized.
