AFC Energy, a leading provider of hydrogen power generation technologies, has signed a Strategic Supplier Agreement (SSA) with Zollner Elektronik, Europe's largest electronics mechanical services contract manufacturer. The agreement is for the scaled production of fuel cell modules for AFC Energy's S Series platform. Zollner will undertake a phased build-up of fuel cell module manufacture, including wiring and looms, electrical panel and boards, balance of plant sub-assemblies, module assembly, stack integration, and module factory acceptance testing. The scaled production of each fuel cell module is expected to take place in Zollner's German facilities outside of Zandt, with the potential for international growth across multiple continents.

The SSA is crucial in enabling the scale-up of H-Power Generator production, with call-off orders placed alongside demand growth. Zollner's role in manufacture is critical in supporting the company's decarbonization goals. Markus Aschenbrenner, Member of the board at Zollner Elektronik, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, "We are delighted to have entered into this multi-year Strategic Supply Agreement with AFC Energy to support the company meet the growing demand for sustainable alternatives to fossil fuel generators."
