Acer Inc. has announced its partnership with the 35th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) in Hungary. The company will provide PC solutions for all the contestants and onsite staff, continuing its support for the IOI contests since 2018. Acer's laptops will be used by young computer scientists to formulate algorithms and programming tasks, as well as by staff members to conduct pre-event tests and evaluate algorithms submitted by contestants. This support ensures a smooth-running competition throughout the week-long event.
In addition to powering the IOI, Acer will collaborate with the Hungarian Ministry of Economic Development to donate the laptops to local schools after the contest. This initiative aims to support students and teachers in fostering a positive learning environment and stimulating innovation. Approximately 400 participants from 90 countries are attending the IOI 2023.
Emmanuel Fromont, Corporate Vice President and President of EMEA Operations at Acer, expressed the company's belief in the transformative power of education and technology. Acer is thrilled to equip the contestants with their PC solutions, including the latest line-up of powerful Aspire notebooks, enabling them to tackle challenging algorithms with ease.
Acer is committed to contributing to social responsibilities, with education being one of its key focuses. The company seeks to promote digital equity and break barriers between people and technology.
