Acer has announced that it will donate computing equipment to schools in Ukraine, with the aim of enhancing digital literacy and inclusion for teachers, students, parents, and the wider community. The donation will benefit three schools in Poltava Oblast, which have a total of 2,300 students. This donation aligns with Acer's long-term commitment to social responsibility, with education being one of its key focuses.
The donation, made in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Affairs of Taiwan, includes Acer Aspire notebooks with headsets, Acer Smart Touch kits (featuring a digital projector and interactive whiteboard), and Wi-Fi routers. These products will be used in physical, online, and recorded sessions starting from the new school year in September. The sessions will focus on deepening the application of technology to education and essential technology skills such as artificial intelligence, coding, computer and software fundamentals, digital technology, robotics, and safe internet use.
Dmitry Elizarov, General Manager of Eastern Europe and Ukraine at Acer, highlighted the need for education and technology support in Poltava Oblast, which is one of the top hosts of internally displaced persons in Ukraine. He stated that the donation will facilitate the educational process and is in line with Acer Ukraine's long-term strategy to enhance education upskilling in close cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Digital Transformation in Ukraine.
This donation follows Acer's previous donation of notebooks and tablets to a school in Lviv, Ukraine, aimed at enhancing student learning and robotic training. Education is one of the main pillars of Acer's commitment to social care, which is promoted across the company's worldwide corporate responsibility efforts. Acer has also been recognized for its efforts in meeting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and was named among the World Benchmarking Alliance's 2,000 most influential companies in the field of digital inclusion.
Overall, Acer's donation of computing equipment to schools in Ukraine will contribute to the enhancement of digital literacy and inclusion for students, teachers, parents, and the wider community. This aligns with Acer's long-term commitment to social responsibility, with education being one of its key focuses.
